Trek is the world leader in mountain bike technology. No surprise that our mountain bikes are the most technologically advanced on the market. Here, innovations are not limited to only the highest-end MTB models. Every Trek mountain bike is loaded with features and details that will make any ride, on any trail, better.
For the graphics (decals) on their bikes, Trek typically used one or even two background or shadow colors. For example: "yellow with black decals on silver and blue" means the basic color of the bike is yellow, the main color of the decals is black, the first shadow color behind the black is silver and the shadow color behind that is blue. For some years, Trek did use one or more shadow colors on the decals but did not specify those colors in the brochure. Many of the more popular models came in two or more colors. In the listings below, the word" also" is used to indicate a second or third color scheme. For example, here are three color schemes for one model: "ice red with gold decals, also pearl green/blue moon fade with white decals, also blue moon with white decals".
The early bikes, from 1976 to 1981, were available in numerous colors. For these, color is not indicative of model. If color is not given for an 82 and newer model, it maybe available in the brochure for that year. Some Trek bike models sold in U.K./Europe, and in other non-U.S. countries, have colors and components that do not appear in the U.S. brochures on this site. Trek used different colors and components and models to match local preferences.
